Trading as Meath Opportunities for Training (MOT), Tabor House and Community Initiative clg came into being in 2004. Originally set up as a Sponsor for a FÁS (now the LMETB) Local Training Initiative based in Trim, the company  has expanded it’s work with the community by setting up a Community Employment Scheme in Navan, Co. Meath.

MOT LTI

Meath Opportunities for Training (MOT) is a Local Training Initiative that was set up in to assist people who are in recovery from an addiction.
It is funded through the Louth and Meath Education and Training Board (LMETB).
Course Duration: The course at MOT is of 20 weeks duration and operates  with continuous intake from January to December each year.
Course Content:
Drawing, ICDL, Painting, Personal and Interpersonal Development.

MOT CE Scheme

MOT CE Scheme was set up in 2016 and initiated by members of the North Eastern Regional Drugs Task Force and the Board of Management of Meath Opportunities for Training -Tabor House and Community Initiative CLG. 

Based in Navan the CE Scheme provides training and employment opportunities.

LMETB

Louth & Meath Education and Training Board ‘s Community Education Service supports and assists new and existing community groups in County Louth and Meath in establishing community-based education programmes.

Community Education programmes aim to help learners develop their self-confidence and educational skills base so that they can actively take part in their communities.

North Eastern Regional Drugs Task Force

The NERDATF North Eastern Regional Drugs & Alcohol Task Force funds and supports four drug and alcohol services located across Louth, Meath, Cavan and Monaghan.

In partnership with ENCLUDE and Quality Matters, the eCASS (electronic Collaborative Addiction Services Solution) was customised to the needs of each local project as well as the specific needs of the Task Force. eCASS is an ambitious information management project which currently involves 72 local addiction service around the country, and their funding and support agencies – the Task Forces. The NERDATF, is one of 5 Task Forces who are involved in eCASS.

The project aims to support services to share data about substance misuse in their area and to enhance understanding of service user needs and substance misuse trends across a wide geographic region.

Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection

A project is a work programme that a group or organisation wishes to undertake. A good project will have a plan of action with specific outcomes, and a specific period in which those outcomes will be achieved.

The Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection can approve projects which may last from 1 to 3 years.

MOT Local Training Initiative

Meath Opportunities for Training (MOT) is a Local Training Initiative that was set up in to assist people who are in recovery from an addiction. It is funded from European and Irish Goverment funds managed through the Louth and Meath Education and Training Board (LMETB).

This award winning scheme began in 2004 to provide basic social and skills training for the participants of Tabor House and members of the community. In January 2007 the project was awarded an Aontas Star Award for best adult education programme in Leinster.

MOT LTI works closely with the local Community Employment Schemes,  LMETB and second and third level colleges in the Meath, Louth and Dublin areas and compliments the therapeutic milieu which is available to the residents in Tabor House, Navan, Co. Meath.

Community Involvement for 19 Years

Since it’s inception MOT has continually sought to improve the lives of those who have been touched by addiction.

MOT CE Scheme

Based on Kennedy Road in Navan, Co. Meath this important scheme is openly accessible to the community. The scheme provides:

  • Support to recovering drug users
  • A structure to each day
  • Asistance in developing their  personal, social and work related skills
  • Opportunities for training
  • Work placement
  • Direct support by placing client at centre of planning and activities.
